Curriculum Mapping

Washakie #1 is aligned to the Wyoming Content and Performance Standards in all areas including Computer Science.

Procedures for Curriculum Adoption and alignment are outlined in Board Policy, the Administrative Procedures Manual, and the district’s Comprehensive Assessment System document.

Grade level and Content area teams are given the latitute to create innovative standard-based lessons and assessments with a strong focus on prioritized standards, problem solving.  In addition, teachers maintain a focus on Reading and Writing in Science, History, and Technical Subjects.

To date, grading and reporting are standards-aligned in grades K-8.  Worland High School maintains a largely traditional grading system.  Work towards a more standards-based system is in progress.

Wyoming Content and Performance Standards can be found at the links below.  Wyoming Content and Performance Standards describe what students are expected to “know and be able to do” by the end of a grade or grade band.
