Jody Rakness

Jody Rakness is the Assistant Superintendent of Washakie County School District #1. In this position, she oversees curriculum and instruction, K-3 Literacy initiatives, writes and manages consolidated and competitive grants, oversees technology, guides continuous improvement efforts, and works with the administrative team and team leaders to monitor the progress and success of professional learning communities and district wide improvement efforts.

To ensure the cohesive alignment of continuous improvement efforts district wide, Jody works to promote a collaborative environment with a focus on growing instructional leaders with a shared responsibility for student learning.

Prior to her position as Assistant Superintendent, Jody served as the Curriculum/Technology Director and District Leadership Coordinator. She has taught at the community college, high school, and middle school levels in the areas of Business Education, Social Studies, and Computer Technology.

​Jody has served as WY-ASCD Secretary, President-Elect, and President of this association. She was named “Wyoming Curriculum Director of the Year” for 2019.
